Steel Mesh Reinforced Polyethylene (SRTP) Composite Pipe is a high-integrity, multi-layer pipeline solution engineered specifically for the demanding conditions of upstream and midstream oil and gas operations. By integrating a precision-perforated steel mesh skeleton within corrosion-proof HDPE encapsulation, SRTP pipe delivers the burst strength and structural reliability of steel flowlines with the permanent corrosion immunity essential for long-term hydrocarbon service.
The pipe is manufactured through an advanced continuous co-extrusion process in which a high-tensile steel strip, uniformly perforated and helically wound into a reinforcing mesh core, is permanently fused within inner and outer layers of high-density polyethylene (HDPE). This monolithic construction eliminates interfacial delamination and creates a unified composite structure capable of handling the multiphase flows, pressure cycling, and aggressive produced fluids characteristic of oil and gas production environments.
Oil & Gas Field Applications
- Wellpad Gathering Networks: Multiphase crude oil, associated gas, and produced water gathering from wellheads to central processing facilities with full H₂S and CO₂ sour service compatibility.
